Postponement of the Embassy’s Consular Missions from March to June 2020 JSD-2020-10

/ advisory, covid19

The New Zealand Government issued a directive on 16 March 2020 on the cancellation of public events or mass gatherings in view of the spike in the number of the 2019 novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the country. In compliance with this policy, the Philippine Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand, is therefore postponing its scheduled consular missions to the following areas:

  • TAUPO (17-19 April 2020)
  • QUEENSTOWN (15-17 May 2020)
  • COOK ISLANDS, SAMOA, TONGA (TBC in May 2020)
  • AUCKLAND (18-22 June 2020)

Those who have already confirmed bookings for the consular mission to Taupo this April will have to rebook again when the Embassy releases the new appointment link.

The Philippine Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand is likewise postponing its consular mission to FIJI on 28-29 March 2020 due to the prevailing travel restrictions and quarantine measures.

The Embassy continues to prioritize the health and safety of our kababayans during this time. The Embassy will resume its consular mission activities once the COVID-19 situation improves.

Filipinos in New Zealand are still advised to take the precautionary measures outlined by the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 as well as to check the Immigration New Zealand website for updates on travel restrictions.
