Registration of Philippine Nurses Who Gained Employment Through The Competency Assessment Program (CAP)

Internationally Qualified PH Nurses who came to New Zealand under a Critical Purpose Visitor-Visa and had gained employment after their Competency Assessment Programme (CAP) must submit the following documents to the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO Wellington) for verification.

Below are the steps in POLO contract verification:

  1. POLO Wellington verifies the employment documents of the returning worker by submitting ALL ORIGINAL HARD COPIES personally or through courier. Please note that we do not accept documents sent via email.

  2. Worker submits personally to POLO (if location is within Wellington) or send through NZ Post courier with tracking number sticker (if located in other parts of NZ) the following requirements to POLO Wellington:

a. Printed hardcopies of Original Employment Contract (signed by both employer and employee)
b. Printed copy of Signed Addendum to the Contract hereto attached to comply with the minimum requirements of the POEA in employing Filipino Workers abroad which will form part of your existing employment contract

If the employer refuses to sign the Addendum, an insurance policy may be submitted instead, provided that there is a provision for repatriation and medical evacuation to the Philippines in case of the worker's death or illness.

c.Printed copy of Valid Working Visa
d. Printed copy of worker's passport valid at least six (6) months before date of departure
e. Any proof of current employment such as Company ID or recent pay slip
f. Sworn Statement** of the worker providing explanation on: how he/she changed employer, how he/she was hired by current employer, name of old employer/company, change of visa status (from visitor or student visa to work visa) etc.

Sworn Statement - a typewritten or handwritten declaration duly signed by the worker, no need for a JP

g. Paid self-addressed return courier bag/envelope with tracking number sticker. This will be used to send back to the documents to your NZ home address.

  1. The verification fee is $16.00 payable in Cash.

  2. When vacationing in the PH, set an online appointment through the Balik Manggagawa (BM) Online Processing System at www.bmonline.ph/ on the OFWs’ preferred date and time at any POEA Office, personally submit the POLO verified documents at the POEA to secure an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).
