During the Gala Dinner to mark th 125th Anniversary of the Mission to Seafarers, Ambassador Kira Azucena conveyed to H.E. Dr. Richard Davies CStJ CF, Spouse of the NZ Governor-General and Patron of the Mission to Seafarers, that the resolution on seafarers that PH tabled at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), was eventually adopted by consensus.

Ambassador Azucena was one of only two Ambassadors in New Zealand invited to the prestigious event in recognition that Filipino seafarers constitute more than half of the maritime crew around the globe.
