Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman Dr. Prospero Julian De Vera III and Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills Honorable Penny Simmonds led the formality of launching the joint project of CHED and New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) ‘Making Connections: Comparing Qualifications in the Philippines and New Zealand’ in a ceremony held on 22 August 2024 at the New Zealand Parliament.

With the project's goal to seek improved education and qualification systems in the two countries, CHED engaged with NZ education agencies and providers paving the way to the mobility of students and professionals.

The Philippine Embassy in Wellington expressed support to the initiative of the CHED and NZQA to strengthen the long-standing people-to-people linkages as the countries' shared commitment to development.
