Gotingco family continues to be at the center of prayers, support and solidarity

/ news

As Tony Gotingco and his family go through this indescribably difficult period in their lives in their quest for justice for beloved Blessie, outpouring of prayers and support continue to come from various people and communities throughout New Zealand. The Gotingco family’s unshakeable faith in GOD, close family ties, solid Christian values, strong and dignified togetherness, valued friendships, unfailing and overflowing gratitude and prayerful spirit are truly exemplary.

The Philippine Embassy in Wellington, the Philippine Consulate General in Auckland and the Filipino communities in the North and South islands continue to be united and one with Tony Gotingco and his family and loved ones and stand in solidarity with them. We continue to offer our heartfelt prayers, assistance, support and fellowship as we come together in the spirit of “bayanihan” very much a part of the Filipino readiness and sense of volunteerism to help one another. In the midst of it all, and as they cope with the daily challenges in their lives, Tony and his family are comforted by the words in the Bible that “GOD is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear….” (Psalm 46:1-2). After the guilty verdict was handed down on Blessie’s assailant last Friday, 22 May, Tony with his family and loved ones beside him, stood in an admirably dignified manner and said “May the peace of the LORD be with all of you.”

We will always remember Blessie in our hearts and in our prayers and her beautiful and wonderful memory lives on.
