Request for Repatriation Due to the COVID-19 Situation JSD-2020-16

/ advisory, covid19

Since the New Zealand Government has raised Alert Level 4 and imposed the lockdown of its borders on 25 March 2020 to flatten the COVID-19 curve, the Embassy has received requests for repatriation from some of our kababayans who are still stranded in New Zealand, French Polynesia, Fiji, and the Cook Islands.

The Embassy likewise understands that the prevailing travel restrictions and curfews imposed on the Pacific Islands are added constraints to the situation of our kababayans.

In view of the evolving situation, and due to the pause in the operations of major airlines during this time, the Embassy is exploring various options for repatriation of Filipino nationals. One important factor for consideration is the number of passengers seeking to return to the Philippines.

If you are affected by the ongoing COVID-19 situation and you need to return to the Philippines, kindly fill up this form https://bit.ly/33SSU78. Your response would serve as basis for the Embassy and the Philippine Government’s planning and decision- making regarding this matter.
