Ube takes center stage in Philippine Embassys Ube Serye in New Zealand

30 April 2026, Wellington - The Philippine Embassy in New Zealand successfully concluded its Ube Serye in celebration of Filipino Food Month highlighting the global love for ube, a cherished ingredient in Filipino cuisine.
The Embassy featured nine Filipino entrepreneurs and Filipino-owned cafés and restaurants in New Zealand namely: Coraly Café, Sansrigal, Zalati, Tinapay ATBP, Mommy Panadera, The Coffee Veans, Kiwihana Treats, Make and Bake by Qwuizzy, and Lazy Juan. Each showcased their best-selling ube creations, demonstrating the versatility and appeal of this beloved purple yam.
More than just a celebration of ube’s vibrant flavor, the Ube Serye honored the passion and creativity of Filipino entrepreneurs who continue to promote and preserve Filipino culture through their culinary artistry. -END
